Description of Competition
Project OrgEditor is an AMV competition originally created by CodeZTM in 2011. Since then, it has become a widely known and extremely popular AMV event that has produced many outstanding videos throughout its four installments. But unfortunately, the competition has been on hiatus for the past two years due to CodeZTM becoming less active in the AMV community. Even so, Project OrgEditor has always been very special to me {Kireblue}, and I took pride in being one if its returning judges. And so for 2015, I decided to revive the competition with the help of Ghet, Camichan19, alchemymini, GuntherAMVs, MycathatesyouAMV and Xophilarus. All of us have worked very hard to analyze all the aspects of Project OrgEditor that people enjoyed, and improve on them to make the event even more enjoyable. We have also partnered with AnimeMusicVideos.org to be the host of this competition and MomoCon to be our prize sponsor.

Summary
Project Org Editor 2015 will be a online AMV competition split into 6 preliminary/ non-elimination rounds and 2 single-elimination rounds. There will be no registration deadline, and anyone can enter the competition at any point during the preliminary rounds. At the start of each round, a theme will be revealed and participants will have the option to either edit a video for that round or skip it. At the end of each round, the submitted videos will then be judged on the following criteria and scored: Editing (20), Concept (20), and Enjoyability (10). At the end of the preliminary rounds, the top 3 round totals from each participant will be tallied, and the 8 highest scoring editors will move on to the single-elimination finals and semifinals.

Specific Rules and Details

  • Entrants may only join as an individual: MEPs or Collabs will not be accepted.
  • To enter the competition, you must be a registered member of AnimeMusicVideos.org.
  • Each participant will only be allowed to submit one video per round. Any entrant that attempts to submit multiple entries or register using multiple accounts will be disqualified.
  • All AMVs entered into this contest must meet the A-M-V.org standards of uploading. Uploading to the site isn’t actually required, but if your video doesn’t meet these standards, it will not be accepted into the competition.
  • The preliminary rounds will be held over 6 weeks (1 round per week).
  • Each preliminary round will last exactly 7 days.
  • Within 7 days of the end of each round, the judges will score all the submitted videos and post the round totals.
  • Each prelimainary round will start immediately after the previous round ends.
  • There will be no eliminations, and participants are allowed to enter as many or few preliminary rounds as they choose.
  • Participants are only required to edit for 3 of the 6 preliminary rounds to be eligible for the semifinals.
  • Only a person’s top 3 preliminary round totals will be accepted regardless of how many rounds they participated in.

_______________________________________________________

  • After the preliminary rounds are over, there will be a 1 week break, the top 3 round totals from each participant will be tallied, and everyone but the 8 highest scoring editors will be eliminated.
  • After the preliminary round break, there will be an additional 2 rounds (Semifinals, and Finals).
  • The top 4 participants from the semifinals will then be eligible for the final round.
  • In the case of a tie at the end of either elimination round, the winner will be determined by their highest single round total from all previous rounds.

Submitting your video
The announcement thread for each round will contain instructions on how to submit your video. Since each round will also require specific information to accompany your entry, it is recommended that you read these instructions very carefully.

Note: At the end of each round, all the submitted videos will be made available to the public to stream on google drive. If you would like the download option to be disabled on your video and to only allow it to be streamed, please add this request to the body of your submission message. By default, all videos will be made available for download unless the editor specifically requests that it doesn't.

Editors also have the option to request that one of their videos be completely unavailable to the public, and only the judges will be able to view it. This option is only available during the preliminary rounds, can only be used once, and can not be changed to a different video (even if the editor chooses to remove the restriction on the previous one).

Prizes & Awards

  • Prize support for this competition will be provided by MomoCon. The top 8 participants will each receive an award and a free 4-day pass to MomoCon 2016.
  • The top 4 participants will each receive a prize pack consisting of numerous DVDs, Blu-rays, and various merchandise provided by Viz, Funimation, and Sega. The value of each prize pack will increase based on overall placement in the competition.
  • In addition to the prizes for the participants with the top 3 round totals, there will be a special prize for the participant with the highest combined total of all 6 preliminary rounds. This person will receive a limited edition handcrafted Chao bobblehead (From the Sonic Boom TV Series) that was provided by Sega. Its collector number is 0266 of 1300 and was only made available at an exclusive Sonic Boom event in 2013. This prize is meant to encourage people to participate in more than the minimum 3 preliminary rounds since ALL of your round totals will be combined when determining this winner (even if you competed in more than 3). And so, if you make a video for each preliminary round, it is possible to have up to 6 round totals included in your score for this prize. The winner of this prize will be announced during the 1 week break between round 6 and the semifinals.
  • There will also be special "Judges Awards" that will be given out at the end of the competition and will be accompanied with additional prizes provided at each judges' discretion.

In Greek mythology, the Twelve Olympians are the major deities commonly considered to be Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, Hermes and either Hestia, or Dionysus. They were the principal deities of ancient Greek religion, and resided atop a mythical Mount Olympus. Together they presided over every aspect of human life and were worshiped for their many virtues.

Round Challenge
For round 1, you will be choosing an Olympian God and editing a video inspired by their virtues. Please note that the theme of your video should be their virtues, and not simply the Gods themselves. For example: Editing a video about fire will not be enough to satisfy the theme if you choose Hephaestus (even though he is the God of fire). You're allowed to incorporate fire into your video, but the core concept should be about his virtues of "forge, and craftsmanship". A list of the virtues relating to each God can be found here.

Round Challenge
For round 2, you will be choosing a character trope that is a recurring element in anime and editing a video inspired by it. A list of many popular character tropes can be found here. But this is by no means a definitive or comprehensive list. There are tons of character tropes in anime, and you are free to choose one that is not listed. But please note that if you are unable to describe your character trope in a short phrase or just a few words, it may not be a good one to choose for this theme. Since this should be the core concept of your video, the judges should be able to identify it without a lengthy explanation.
