I made this video for Japan Expo 2015. I really like my video "Renegade (still running)", it's one of my personal favourites, and more than one person told me through the years that I would have to make a second chapter. So I decided to edit it, and this is the result: a kind of prequel of my previous work. Hope you like it.

I thought this was a very entertaining video, you picked a fun and fitting combo for the anime and song. Good job and congrats for the finalist status in JE

The flow is very nice. your transform editing (pan/crop zoomings) are smooth as well. I like the way you used the footage but the video is too plain. I think you should consider adding more elements to the video to make it more advanced. but great job anyways!

Thanks both for your comments!
@Noor: Which elements do you think I could have added?

since its a video for a contest. you should consider making your contest videos more complicated. aka advance in effects and creative ideas. since your flow is pretty good I think you need to "think outside the box".Which would make the viewers more excited and is entertaining as well

I think that making complicated effects is not a synonym of "thinking outside the box", but simply a way to show to the people our skills with editing programs. And that's way I'd rather do videos my way, apparently simple and linear, so that only people who have seen the anime or the making-of can understand what I've done. I agree that for a competition the technical aspect is more important than the substance, but I still prefer do it my way. If it goes well, great, if it goes bad, I "lost" on my terms, not the ones imposed by the current trend. Thanks for your opinion.

I definitely agree. but you got me wrong xD Actually to me technical effects isnt that important more than how the video is presented. professional effects without rhythm makes the video useless. what I said in the previous comment as to advance in effects was just an option. you don't need to do that, and I didn't relate it to "thinking outside the box". if it was, then raw editors would've been considered a failure. you can still add more effects and keep it clean and smooth. effects don't have to be fancy, they just have to be fit with the video

I'm a little bit confused actually xD I mean, you say that effects "don't have to be fancy, they just have to be fit with the video". And, in my honest opinion, it's exactly what I did in my video. But, in your first post, you said that the video was too simple and that I had to make more complicated effects. So here comes my doubt: you didn't see the Before/After and so the video seemed a simple AMV with TTGL without anything done by me, or you did see the Before/After and you think that what I've done is too simple and I should have risk more? I'm asking this because, as I've already said, I'm confused and I want to understand better

yea agreed with Noor, it's the same thing during 2 minutes so you start to get bored cuz you know what is going to come after this or that. But in general your flow is really good

I meant theres no variety in effects. they dont need to be complicated, just different. and yes risk more
